Meet Ming Franz, Art Instructor
Meet our talented Osher Lifelong Learning Institute instructor Ming Franz!
Ming Franz is an art instructor at UNM Continuing Education. Ming specializes in Splash Ink with Watercolor painting which combines watercolor techniques with Chinese ink and brush. Born in a jungle region of Taiwan, as a child, Ming hiked several miles to school. She continues to be a strong hiker today, and because of her love for hiking, also developed a love for nature, especially waterfalls, streams, rivers, trees, birds. As a result, painting landscapes comes naturally to Ming.
Splash Ink with Watercolor is an innovative art form about freedom, creativity, and your imagination. It is about finding your inner spirit and letting it work for and through you. Ming received her basic art training in Taiwan and has continued her art in the United States. She teaches workshops and conducts demonstrations at the New Mexico Art League, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of New Mexico, and also in her studio in Edgewood, New Mexico. She also teaches annually at Artist’s Expo in Houston, Texas, Silicon Valley Asian Art Center in California, and many other art organizations throughout the United States.
Ming is the author of Splash Ink with Watercolor and has had her work published in North Light Book Series Splash 9, Splash 10 and Splash 13, Artist’s Magazine, Studio Visit Magazine, Kennedy Publishing co., Albuquerque Journal, Mountain Valley Telegraph, Asian World Journal and Rainbow Magazine (Taiwan).
