Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic
starts June 4, 2012! Receive the training necessary to work in emergency rooms, with ambulance services and for fire services. This course content will give you the knowledge, skills and abilities to recognize and stabilize patients with life-threatening emergencies at the scene and during transport. Upon successful completion of this course and prior to employment you must pass the state licensing exam for EMT Basic. This course exceeds the National Standards recommendations for the EMT Basic. This course also includes information and training for skills allowed by the New Mexico EMT-Basic Scope of Practice. For some employment opportunities, age requirements may apply. All costs for books, materials and needle-stick insurance are included in the tuition for this course.
