Leadership for the Common Core I

Leadership Programs at UNM Continuing Education

Leadership is critical to the successful implementation of the Common Core State Standards in New Mexico. Superintendents, Central Office Leaders and Principals need new information and tools to partner successfully with teachers, parents and the community to ensure that all students have access to the Common Core.

Leadership for the Common Core will give leaders hands-on training and tools to lead the transition from the New Mexico Standards of Excellence to the Common Core Standards in English Language Arts and Mathematics. We will also train leaders on how to develop high-quality professional development for teachers and how to create comprehensive communication plans for faculty, staff, school boards, parents and the community. We provide electronic tools and materials for all participants.

Class will be held at the UNM Continuing Education North Building on
Monday from 8:30am-4:30pm and Tuesday from 8:30am-12:00pm,
August 6-7, 2012. Tuition is $175. Register by calling 505-277-0077
