Fall Art Classes

PainterJust because Summer is ending does not mean you can’t take some time to work on yourself. The Growth and Enrichment program at UNM Continuing Education offers a wide variety of art classes, and everyone can find something to benefit their mind, body and anywhere in-between. The stresses of everyday life can be overwhelming, and it’s important to not forget about your health, both physically and mentally. If you are an aspiring artist, you will find classes that suit your level and comfort.

Art is a wonderful pass-time with many benefits. A study by the Nord-Trøndelag Health Study Research Center, Norwegian University of Science and Technology reveals that “participation in receptive and creative cultural activities (art) was significantly associated with good health, good satisfaction with life and low anxiety and depression scores in both genders.” Our culture is one focused on work, but the pursuit of success can often make us lose track of our personal health and well-being. With that thought in mind, it is easy to see that art plays a significant role in the maintenance of our overall health.
