Closed Captioning and Subtitling Videos 101 NMPA Workshop

Closed Captions… Open Captions… Subtitles… We see them on TV programs, DVDs, streaming media and foreign films. They are required by the FCC for programs longer than 15 minutes and strongly recommended on anything shorter. Should you be putting them on your projects? How do you make them? Is the built-in captioning in apps like Adobe Premiere good enough, or do you need a dedicated program? Chris tells all.

Chris is a 30-year video production veteran based in Albuquerque, NM. He has shot and edited numerous commercials, industrials, music videos and regional broadcast shows for clients including Motorola, Sandia National Laboratories and the Multiple Sclerosis Society. He currently owns POV, Inc., a full-service boutique media production company that features 4K video and closed captioning. He volunteers with Amnesty International and enjoys travel and music with his wife and son. Chris serves on the Executive Board of the Post Alliance as Treasurer.
